Our system provides high security and prevents unauthorized duplication of remote controls.
To ensure secure transmission, the code must be encrypted in a way that makes it impossible to simply “capture” and reuse. Older systems were vulnerable: intruders could intercept the signal from a remote control (e.g., when opening garage doors) and later replay it to gain unauthorized access. That’s why modern communication must use a rolling code—changing with every press of a button—ensuring that each signal is unique. This is exactly what our RXR4 receiver module and remotes provide.
Advanced Security Algorithm
The encryption algorithm is the result of years of development by a team of programmers and cryptoanalysts at Microchip Technology Inc. A detailed description of the security protocol can be found at www.microchip.com. Microchip holds the patent for the KEELOQ rolling (hopping) code.
At Harpoon elektronika d.o.o., we have acquired a licensed right to use the KEELOQ algorithm in our products.
Each manufacturer or dealer has their own unique production key, which ensures that remotes are not interchangeable between different suppliers. If you need a new remote, it must be sourced from the same supplier as your original device.

RXR4 RECEIVER MODULE

TX433 SECURE REMOTE CONTROL
The transmission must be encrypted in such a way that it is impossible to simply “capture” the code and reuse it later. In older systems, intruders could intercept the signal sent by a remote control—for example, when opening a garage door—and replay it later when the owner was away.
That is why a communication method with a constantly changing code is essential. Each time the button is pressed, a new, unique bit sequence is generated. This is exactly what our RXR4 receiver module and remotes guarantee.
Each remote control is preprogrammed during manufacturing and contains a unique code consisting of:
- The remote’s serial number,
- A site-specific code,
- The manufacturer’s or dealer’s unique production key,
- A variable (rolling) code,
- A synchronization counter.
Advantages
- Cloning and duplication of remotes is impossible.
- If two remotes are accidentally made with the same code, using one will automatically invalidate the other. This prevents users from falsely claiming they lost a remote while secretly keeping and using a second.
- Even if different manufacturers use the same chip in their remotes, code duplication does not occur. Each manufacturer or dealer selects a unique production key.
- Even in the unlikely event that two manufacturers choose the same production key, two more conditions must be met for a conflict to occur: identical serial numbers and an identical counter state—which is virtually impossible.
- Different dealers and manufacturers each have their own production keys. Therefore, remotes are not interchangeable between systems. If you need a new remote, it must be sourced from the original supplier.
- Remotes are uniquely linked to each installation and cannot be reused across multiple locations unless specially configured for that purpose.
Technical Specifications
- Operates on 433.92 MHz, compliant with EN300 220-3 low-power transmission standards.
- The battery lasts up to 2 years or more under normal use. When it runs low, the LED on the remote will blink slowly upon button press—this indicates it’s time to replace the battery.
- Typical range is 20 meters, with a maximum range of up to 150 meters in open space. Range can vary depending on antenna position, terrain, obstacles, and RF interference.
- Available in 2-, 3-, and 6-button models.
- A 2-button remote can control up to 3 channels by pressing multiple buttons in combination.
- A 4-button remote can operate up to 15 outputs, using all valid combinations (4×4 = 16, minus the unused “0000” = 15 combinations).
