We have been in business since 1990, developing and manufacturing electronic devices for well-known clients. The core focus of our development is remote control in the ISM (Industrial, Science, Medical) frequency band. Every device in our production program is the result of our in-house expertise. We manage the entire process—from concept and design to prototyping, testing, and preparation for mass production—entirely on our own.

BUSINESS HISTORY, PRODUCTS, AND PROJECTS
- Automobile Alarm Systems
Our first car alarm system originated from the desire to secure our first (old) car. What started as a hobby project eventually evolved into one of the best car alarm systems on our market. Soon, the company became widely recognized under the HARPOON car alarm brand, leading us to rename the company to Harpoon Elektronika d.o.o. We initially wanted to name the alarm system Harpuna, but since the name was already taken, we opted for Harpoon, inspired by our Italian competitor, who produced car alarms under the name Piranha (a predatory fish).
At the beginning of our car alarm production, no installation services were available, so we established our own service center. From 1995 to 2005, we provided high-quality installation of additional vehicle equipment. We were an authorized installer for Mobitel d.d. and all major Slovenian importers of GSM devices.
- Security Systems and Strategic Projects
We developed and produced a security system for facilities enclosed by wire fences. For this project, we designed and manufactured a special sensor cable using our proprietary formulas. Our security systems were used to protect warehouses, prisons, water reservoirs, and other strategic facilities, including a diamond mine.
One of our major domestic clients was the newly established Sintal d.d., for whom our product was of strategic importance. This allowed Sintal to establish itself as an exclusive installer in the field of perimeter security.
We were the first to introduce and offer CCD video cameras in our market, similar to those now found in smartphones, laptops, and security systems. We implemented several large-scale video surveillance systems, including Plato Karavanke and Cementarna Trbovlje. To this day, we remain active in high-end thermal imaging projects and devices. We have collaborated with FLIR since 1997.
- Innovative Technologies and Collaborations
We were among the first to use ECS technology for battery charger production, leading to close cooperation with the R&D department of Iskra Avtoelektrika (now Mahle), ELAN, and TAB, with whom we continue to collaborate.
We developed a secure rolling-code system (Keeloq) for wireless gate and barrier control. Many large parking facilities across Slovenia are equipped with our remote controls. Our technology prevents unauthorized duplication and counterfeiting of remote controls, making it highly reliable for high-traffic areas. We continue to work with the most recognizable companies in this sector.
Additionally, we designed numerous controllers and devices for parking systems and car washes. Our portfolio includes moisture regulators for the energy sector, vehicle loop detectors, and various specialized electronic devices.
- Major Infrastructure and Nautical Electronics
One of our most challenging projects was the renovation, modification, and upgrade of the “Burja” wind monitoring system in the Vipava Valley. We embraced this technically demanding challenge and successfully completed and maintained the system for several years. For the first time in over a decade, the system operated flawlessly after our upgrades. You may remember news reports featuring images of the Burja system measuring wind speed on the national road in the Vipava Valley.
- Nautical Service and Satellite Systems
Since 1997, we have been distributing and servicing marine instruments under brands such as Autohelm and Raytheon (now Raymarine). That same year, the then Autohelm representative, Marenostrum d.o.o. from Opatija, transferred the representation for the former Yugoslavia to us. In the field of marine electronics, we partnered with Eissing GmbH from Germany, the largest European distributor of nautical electronics and a key supplier for Bavaria Yachts. Due to Slovenia’s strategic location for launching Bavaria’s fleet into the water, our business flourished. Within just a few years, we became one of Eissing’s top dealers and service providers.
In 2004, we opened a store and service center in the Koper Marina. However, due to unforeseen contractual issues with Raymarine, representation for the former Yugoslavia was mistakenly transferred to a Croatian company, despite our excellent track record. Nevertheless, we continue to collaborate with Raymarine, servicing and distributing their instruments from our service center in Trzin. We offer marine instruments at the best prices with expert consultation and have outfitted the vessels of many well-known Slovenian sailors and boat manufacturers.
As a marine electronics service provider, we specialize in consulting, system design, supply, and servicing. Since 2001, we have also been an authorized distributor and service provider for KVH satellite antennas, commonly seen on luxury yachts. Over the years, we have become a leading company in marine electronics, working with most Slovenian boat manufacturers, importers, and nautical stores.
- Forestry Machinery and Future Innovations
Throughout our history, we have developed and manufactured control systems for forestry machinery. For Tajfun d.o.o., we created a range of products for forestry equipment control.
Currently, we are completing development on an FHSS (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) transmitter-receiver module, aiming to enter the market for safe remote machine control systems that comply with the most stringent safety standards.
